Crypto is messing around in Kings Canyon and could trigger some huge map changes for Apex Legends Season 3 Meltdown.

Apex Legends Season 3 is only one week away. We have a substantial amount of information about the new season, including new ranked modes, new additions, and much more.

Recently, though, Apex Legends players have been putting pieces together concerning what Season 3 will bring. It looks like we'll be getting some huge map changes on October 1.

Lava and Ice

"Eliminate ememies and explore lava and ice scenarios" New map or atleast major map changes pretty much confirmed? from r/apexlegends

The primary clue that points to massive Apex Legends Season 3 map changes comes from a post to Reddit.

The description is an English translation of the Italian Apex Legends website. Clearly, this points to new lava and ice locations in Apex Legends.

This isn't the only clue we have, however. The English version of the site says, “Show off your skills in the new series of Ranked mode. Drop-in hot and put your enemies on ice!” which also points to some lava and ice map changes.

The third piece of information we have is the original name of Apex Legends Season 3. Before it was announced as "Meltdown," data miners found the name "Fire and Ice" in the game files.

All of this points to... well... fire and ice in Apex Legends Season 3.

Crypto clearly has an ax to grind against the powers-that-be in Kings Canyon. Destroying the map with fire and ice could be his revenge plot, and will open the door to several new locations.

Some fans have theorized that Respawn will bring us an entirely new map for Season 3. I doubt this, though. Respawn seems to be taking the Fortnite route when it comes to map changes - having a static map and improving it to keep the game fresh.
