Similar to other video games, Apex Legends is not immune to annoying errors. Quite recently, some PC players have encountered an error that prevents them from loading into a map. The error message reads: “fs_checkasyncrequest returned error for model.”
This error is related to the game’s file system and may occur due to various reasons, such as incomplete updates, corrupted files, or incompatible settings. Fortunately, the game developers have suggested some simple solutions to help you fix the error and return to the game.
How to Fix Apex Legends FS_CheckAsyncRequest Error
Restart Your PC

- Click on the Start menu and select Power.
- Click on Restart and wait for your PC to reboot.
- Launch Apex Legends and see if the error is gone.
Verify or Reinstall the Game

Steam
- Open Steam and go to your Library.
- Right-click on Apex Legends and select Properties.
- Go to the Local Files tab and click on Verify Integrity of Game Files.

Origin or EA App
- Open Origin or EA App and go to your Game Library.
- Click on the gear icon next to Apex Legends and select Repair.
- Wait for the process to complete and launch Apex Legends.
Reinstalling the Game
If verifying or repairing the game does not work, you may need to reinstall the game. This will delete all the game files and download them again. To reinstall the game, follow these steps:
- Uninstall Apex Legends from your platform of choice (Steam, Origin, or EA App).
- Delete any remaining files or folders related to Apex Legends from your PC.
- Download and install Apex Legends again from your platform of choice.
